It is very common that any individual who suffers from allergies to also experience a wide variety of different bothersome and sometimes painful symptoms that allergens are known to cause. When individuals come in contact with various allergens, they can experience hives, which is otherwise known as urticaria. This symptom can cause people to develop welts or patches that can appear on their skin very suddenly. The appearance of hives can also be red pale bumps on the skin that are swollen. These areas can be very uncomfortable because they will often cause extreme itching and they can also feel as if they sting or burn as well. These welts, bumps and patches are not localized to one specific area on the individual’s body, which means they can appear on any area of the allergy sufferer’s body after they have been exposed to allergens. Hives can either appear in very small spots or they can also cover much larger areas of the body, which are commonly referred to as plaques. There are times they can last on the body for many hours and at other times they will not begin to fade until several days have passed.
