The beginning of allergy problems that occur with soy products is one that starts with a legume called soybeans. There are also some other beans that are included in the family of legumes and they include kidney beans, black beans, navy beans, chickpeas/chichi or garbanzo beans, string beans, peanuts, licorice, carob, and lentils. Because of the fact that there are numerous individuals that have an allergic reaction to more than just one specific type of legume, it is best to just completely avoid all types of beans altogether. Unfortunately it is not as easy as simply taking the time to remove legumes for your diet, you will also need to carefully inspect the ingredients of other types of foods to ensure that soy has not been used as an ingredient in their making. Infants and children up to age two when most outgrow the reaction, is the age group that generally has an allergy to soy products. Some of the symptoms that a person may experience when they are having an allergic reaction to soy would include asthma, hay fever, shortness of breath, swelling, pink eye or conjunctivitis, low blood pressure, weakness, nasal congestion, fatigue, itching, fever, and several others.
