What is Post Nasal Drip?

Mucus is swallowed a lot without us knowing about it. When you feel the mucus dripping or accumulating from the throat area that is post-nasal drip. If this continues chronic sinusitis might occur. You will often see post-nasal drip and chronic inflammation together.

Post-nasal drip is often treated with medications. They must first confirm your condition before deciding what kind of medications to give. Doctors often give x-rays so they can look at your throat and see the symptoms up close.

They will give you one of the following medications:

- Decongestants
- Antihistamines
- Cromolyn
- Steroid medications
- Steroid sprays
- Immunotherapy

There is a variety of ways that they can give this medication. If you don't like pills you can request for oral medications or chewable tablets. You must drink more water when on these medications and eliminate caffeine. Recovery time depends on how severe your condition is.
