These products are OTC however, it can also be prescribed by your doctor. It can also be used to treat extra pyramidal which are side effects caused by typical antipsychotic. Inject able Diphenhydramine is used to treat life threatening reactions such as anaphylaxis shock when caused by peanuts, bee stings, or products containing latex.

Diphenhydramine is one of the first well know antihistamines and was invented in 1943. It quickly became the first prescribed antihistamine to be approved by the FDA or the US Food and Drug Administration.
