Aerius (widely known as desloratadine) is a tricyclic antihistamine which is used to treat allergies. Aerius is an antihistamine having a selective and peripheral H1-antagonist action. It has a long-lasting effect and does not cause drowsiness because it does not readily enter the central nervous system. ERIUS Tablets are available for adults and adolescents 12 years of age and elder and AERIUS Syrup is available for children as young as 1 year of age4.
