How to recognize severe allergy symptoms

A severe allergy reaction can be an extremely serious situation that may even be life threatening to the individual with signs and symptoms of having an allergic reaction. For this reason, it is vital for people that have family members that suffer from allergy problems to know the warning signs and symptoms that they will want to stay on the look out for. A sudden outbreak of different allergy symptoms that occur very quickly is known as anaphylaxis. This can pose a very serious situation and it can even be life threatening when an allergy sufferer experiences anaphylaxis. Shock is a big sign of this condition and it occurs when an individual’s blood pressure drops to very low levels and the body does not supply enough blood to the person’s organs. The individual may look red or pale in appearance, feel dry or sweaty, become unconscious, anxious, confused, have difficulty breathing, or they may not be able to breath at all. A sudden dilation in several of the body’s blood vessels causes shock and it can also lead very quickly to death. You may also notice coughing, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, bloodshot eyes, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and hives.
